Q. Who manages and operates the DriveBC website?
A. DriveBC is managed by the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

Q. How often is the highway information on the site updated?
A. The information is updated on regularly scheduled intervals, and as conditions change.

Q. Who can I call to report an incident on one of BC's provincial highways?
A. The following link will provide phone numbers for Maintenance Contractors who can be informed of incidents that you may see on the provincial highway system. Link.

Q. Where can I find BC weather information?
A. In addition to providing weather information underneath highway webcam images, we also provide a separate weather map, located here.

Q. How can I make a comment or suggestion regarding DriveBC?
A. We welcome your comments through our Feedback Form.

Q. Where can I find a map with tourist related information?
A. For information related to tourism in British Columbia, please refer to the HelloBC web page on the Tourism BC's website, or visit the BC Ministry of Tourism, Sports and the Arts website.

Q. Where can I find ferry information?
A. Inland ferry information can be found here, while information related to BC Ferries, can be located at their website, located here.

Q. What do the different symbols on the DriveBC map mean?
A. Please refer to our help page for an explanation of the site’s symbols and features.

Q. What does it mean when a highway is bare, showing no icons?
A. When a highway or stretch of highway is not displaying any icons, this means that there have been no reported road conditions or incidents.

Q. Why doesn't the map show all streets in BC?
A. The DriveBC map focuses on provincially managed highways. The map does not focus on municipally or federally managed roads. In addition, National Parks and other areas such as the Alaskan Highway that are not under the jurisdiction of the provincial government are not reported on DriveBC except where special agreements have been made.

Q. When I click on an area of the map with multiple icons, nothing happens. How come?
A. When clicking on a grouping of closely positioned icons, a popup window should appear, asking you to clarify which of the icons / events you would like information on. If you are not receiving this popup window, please check with your browser’s settings, to ensure that you have allowed popup windows for our site.

Q. Why do some of the road reports say north and south (Hwy 6, for instance) when the map shows the road going east-west?
A. For software programming reasons in DriveBC, all highways in the province are designated to go from south to north and from west to east. If you look at the map, you will see that Highway 6 starts down at Salmo, then proceeds north for quite a distance before heading west.
